In response to the Special Advisory Council for Myanmar's Fatal Business report, Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan gave a speech in Singapore's parliament. There are calls for the media to use proper terms, for Singapore to close the bank accounts of the junta and cronies, for Singapore to freeze junta and cronies' bank accounts esp. UOB and OCBC, and for Singapore to take action against the junta's human rights abuses. Additionally, the impact of the February 16th and 17th coups on four villages of KhinOo Tsp has resulted in food and water shortages.
