JD Vance described the United Arab Emirates as by far the most pro-Israel nation among Gulf Cooperation Council countries. He noted that the UAE is engaging in conversations with Iran that have never happened before, including with Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps members. He mentioned an agreement for a US Central Command officer and an IRGC officer to meet in Qatar to resolve disputes.
