Watch any set of X accounts, and know what changed the same day

Pick the accounts that matter to you. twtListen checks who they follow, who follows them, what their bio says and what matches your keywords, then sends you only what is new.

No account needed to see a price. Type a username, tick what you want watched, and see exactly what it costs.

What social listening on X actually means

Social listening means watching X for the things that matter to you and being told when they change, instead of opening the app and scrolling until you notice. Most tools stop at keywords: brand mentions, phrases, hashtags. That answers what people are saying.

The other half is who follows who, and almost nothing watches that. The people an account follows, the people who follow it, and the words in its bio are all public, and they all change before anyone announces anything. twtListen watches both halves for the same list of accounts.

What people are saying

Keywords, phrases and hashtags, checked for you every day. This is what every social listening tool does, and twtListen does it too.

What people are doing

New people they follow, new people following them, and edits to their bio. Quieter than a post, and usually earlier, because nobody is announcing it.

Four things twtListen watches

Use all four on the same list, or just one.

Follows

Every new account the people you watch start following, with their bio attached. This is the one that finds you people before anyone else does.

Followers

The other direction: who starts following the accounts you watch. Useful when the interesting move is somebody arriving rather than somebody being sought out.

Bios

Bio and profile changes on the accounts you watch. A quiet rename and a fresh "building something new" show up here first.

Posts and keywords

Posts matching the keywords, phrases or hashtags you care about, checked daily rather than whenever you remember to search.

We look every day unless you say otherwise. Three times a week, twice a week and once a week are all options, and the price follows whichever you pick.

Who this is for

twtListen does not care who is on your list. The same four things get watched for all of them; only what the change means to you is different.

Investors and funds

Watch the investors you compete with. Every account they start following arrives with the bio and what that founder is building, and anything several of them found separately rises to the top. The test further down is exactly this case.

See the investor page

Sales and business development

Watch the team at a company you want to sell to. New follows tend to show up before announcements do: a supplier being considered, a partner being courted, a new project team forming. You get the opening while it is still an opening.

Recruiting and talent

Watch a company's team. People follow recruiters, job boards and founders in a new field before they move, and they edit a bio before they announce anything. Both show up here.

Brands and agencies

This one is about watching for words rather than watching who people follow. Mentions, phrases and hashtags you care about, checked every day instead of whenever someone remembers to search.

Ecommerce and consumer brands

Watch competitors, suppliers and the creators in your category. New follows show who a brand is about to work with, and who is quietly being courted, well before a campaign goes live.

Journalists, researchers and analysts

Watch a subject rather than a set of companies. New follows bring up people worth talking to before anyone quotes them, and bio changes catch people changing jobs or going quiet.

Crypto and web3 funds

The investor case under a different name. Same daily check, same overlap, and the accounts worth watching move faster, so a day of delay costs more.

Politics and public affairs

Watch officials, staffers and the reporters covering them. Who starts following whom is a public signal of where attention is moving, and it moves before any statement does.

The figures further down come from our own test with investors, because that is the one we have measured. If your list is something else, send it anyway and we will tell you honestly whether there is anything worth watching.

Case study

Eleven investors, three months

A test we did ourselves, to find out whether the overlap idea held up before we sold it to anyone.

Setup

Eleven investor accounts on one list, watching who they followed, for three months. We picked the accounts; no customer was involved and none is named anywhere in this.

Method

Once a day we looked at everyone each of the eleven followed, and compared it with the day before. For every account that was new, we looked up their bio and what they were building. Anything that two or more of the eleven had started following, we kept. Nothing was sampled or estimated: the whole list, every day.

Result

11

investors watched

3

months of daily checks

183,150 accounts discovered
204 followed by two or more

Why the overlap is the number that matters

183,150 accounts is not a list of leads, it is noise, and nobody reads it. The 204 that two or more of the watched investors had each found on their own is a short, useful list, and it is one nobody else has, because it only exists once you are watching all of them at the same time.

One investor following an account tells you very little. Three of them arriving inside a fortnight means something, and it usually happens well before there is a funding round to read about.

What it turned up

Three accounts it turned up, described rather than named.

A founder building an AI coding tool

A founder building EigenCloud

A YC founder nobody had written about

The third one is the point. At 119,000 followers you were going to hear about that account anyway. At 2,713 you were not, and that is where being early is worth something.

What this does not show

This is one test, one use case, over three months. It does not tell you what your list would turn up, and we have not measured the other uses on this page. We keep the watched accounts private, because the list you build belongs to you, so you cannot repeat this exactly. Send your own list and we will do the same thing with it.

How it works

No special access and no waiting for an announcement. We look at the whole list every day and spot what changed.

1

We look at the whole list, daily

For every account you are watching, we go through everyone it follows, once a day.

2

We compare it with yesterday

Whatever is on today's list but was not on yesterday's is what they started following that day. Nothing else has to be worked out.

3

We look up who the new ones are

Each new account arrives with its bio, its follower count and what the person is building, so you can read it and decide, instead of going and looking them up.

4

We put the overlaps first

Accounts that two or more people on your list have followed rise to the top. Everything else is still there to search, but the ones several of them found are what we put in front of you.

Not sure what your list would turn up?

That is the point of sending it. We look at it, see what comes back, and tell you what we found, including when the answer is not much.

What it costs

Three prices, and you only pay for what you switch on. It all runs off a balance you top up, so there is no plan and nothing renews by itself.

Follows and followers

$0.60

Per 1,000 accounts, each time we look. Looking once a day is 30 of those in a month.

Watching bios

$1.00

Per account per month. The first 5 accounts are free, and the total is capped at $30.00 however many you watch.

Posts and keywords

$0.0005

Per post that matches. A word nobody is posting about costs nothing.

The more you watch, the less it costs

The price per account drops as you watch more. It is the same scale our one-off downloads use, applied across everything you have running.

Accounts checked per month Per 1,000
100,000 and under $0.60
100,000+ $0.52
1,000,000+ $0.45
10,000,000+ $0.23
100,000,000+ $0.17

You add money to a balance and watching draws from it as it goes. When the balance runs out we stop watching, rather than billing you.

You can pause anything you are watching, and a paused account is not charged. Switch from daily to weekly and the price drops with it.

What would your list cost?

Put in one account and we will price it right here. Not sure yet? There is an option below the button to just send us the whole list instead.

One username. The @ is optional. We look at their public follower and following counts to work out the price.

What to watch
For how long

Send the usernames and an email address. We go through the list ourselves, see what comes back, and reply with what we found. No account and no card.

We never tell anyone who is on your list and we never publish it. The list you build belongs to you.

Questions

Ordinary social listening watches words and mentions to tell you what people are saying. This turns it around: it watches who a particular group of people start following, because an investor following a founder happens earlier and more quietly than anything they post. twtListen does both.

Every day we go through the full list of accounts each watched investor follows, and compare it with the day before. What is new is what they started following that day. We then look up each new account so you get the bio and what they are building, not just a username.

Within a day. Every list is checked daily, so a new follow shows up at the next check after it happens.

No. Everything twtListen reads is public: who an account follows, its bio, its posts. You never hand over credentials.

No. Your list is among the most revealing things a fund owns, so it stays private to the account that created it, and we do not name customers. Every figure on this page comes from a test we did ourselves, with the watched accounts kept back for that reason.

You pay for what you use, from $0.0006 per account per day, taken from a balance you top up. What it costs depends on how many accounts the people on your list follow in total, so send us your list and we will tell you the exact daily figure before anything starts.

Yes. It does not care who is on the list. A rival's team, the speakers at a conference, everyone who used to work at one company, the journalists covering a subject. Anywhere a group of people following someone new means something, this works.
