The production of chana in the region is decreasing annually. The farmers are subjected to exploitation at the hands of money-lenders as they purchase their produce for only 10 rupees from the market and sell it for 40 rupees. There are numerous reports of land grabbing from farmers which is highly condemnable. India is composed of only two castes, the rich and the poor with the latter having no rights. The government is urged to take necessary action to realize a suitable prices for the crop of the farmers and to prevent their exploitation.
