In light of the current scrutiny on police brutality against Black Americans, many are questioning why David Linthicum, an accused shooter, was taken into custody without being killed due to the fact he is white. People are making comparisons to other white shooters who were successfully taken into custody alive, such as those at the Charleston church, El Paso Walmart, and Buffalo grocery store. Despite the controversy surrounding his career, Lee OSanderlin highlighted that he received criticism for a contentious defense of Ms. Mosby which will have a major impact on his future. Lastly, it is observed to be an understatement to suggest Linthicum survived because he is white, and that if a Black man was in the same situation, there would have been very little chance of survival.
