Facebook has censored an independent news outlet, the Free Press Kashmir, for reporting on the 2018 Asifa Bano rape and murder case. There have been increased demolitions in Kashmir that the people have found to be unlawful and a targeting of the poor. The Chenab Valley is also seeing a lot of land being destroyed for development. There is a campaign in Ladakh for identity, rights and environment, as well as a long-term traffic jam during the construction of the NH244. Evidence of the individuals responsible for the Samjhauta Express blast has been found, however they were acquitted because of Hindu connections. It is being suspected that the blast was a false flag operation aimed at maligning Pakistan, and the Indian court is being seen as a travesty of justice. It is being suggested that there is also dangerous risk with the removal of military personnel in Jammu and Kashmir. Extrajudicial killings and torture have become a routine in the region, showing that many of the rights of the Kashmiris are being taken away.
