Ozet
The United Nations Fund for Population Activities Burkina Faso (UNFPABF) and their partners are advancing social cohesion between displaced people and host populations in Burkina Faso through measures such as their “Field of Peace” program. An integrated support center for survivors of violence has also been opened in the country. The majority of Burkinabè agree that French and pre-existing Burkina Faso regimes are responsible for its ongoing security crisis, and that military forces should focus solely on security rather than politics. The UN has also provided humanitarian assistance including 1000 dignity kits, 3 tents, and supplies for displaced people in the country. Foreign military forces are seen as valuable in helping the country combat terrorism, but not necessarily French forces. The Ministry of Agriculture and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) recently held a workshop to validate their “Hand in Hand” initiative. The World Food Programme (WFP) has also provided support to the national efforts in the country.
