Resumen
A variety of experts are exploring different ways to improve endoscopy training via new publications. There is a fee to submit abstracts which can be a barrier to research talent from lower income countries. The right combination of caution and the right tools is necessary for moving forward. There is a study which indicates that sleeping on the left side is as effective as medication for acid reflux. Abstract submissions should be free and reviewers should be blinded. Pass-fail medical school grading disadvantages students from smaller schools who may not have access to research supervisors. People need access to reliable rapid testing in order to assess their own risk and avoid lockdowns. Academics come in different shapes and flavors and people should choose what they want to be great at. Precision and close interaction between the endoscopist and assistant are important for therapeutic intervention. People should be proud of submitting abstracts even if nothing else comes of it. Finally, money that would have been spent on displays and carpets should be redirected to help pay for abstract submission fees.
